  What is the best advise you have ever been given?

  awhile a go i was uptight about a matter i can't remember now and my friend said to me " give the other side the victory".

  a while ago my little boy was getting uptight and argumentative with his mum i asked him " to let it go" in effect i suppose " giving the other side the victory".

  anyway i am sure our life exsperiences have allowed us both receive and give good advice.

  so the rc really sucked, but i made it through.

  the propaganda was mind blowing.

  i don't know if the crap will be available on the official website or not, but hopefully it gets leaked somehow.

  remind your wife that in the 40's and 50's they discouraged couples having children because the end was so close.

  They got it wrong,and screwed up some couples lives who would have liked to have had a family but when they realised it,it was too late.

  Back then too, the propaganda was that ''spiritual'' couples dont start a family, they pioneer.

  wrong wrong and wrong again. Dont listen to their advice. They wont appologise afterwards.

  having a rant to myself this morning and this phrase my old dad used to say came to mind:.

  "self praise is no recommendation".. and i thought that self praise is exactly what jehovah's witnesses hear regularly.. we all remember hearing how loving, kind, godlike etc we were, as jehovah's witnesses.. yet all of that is self praise.

  being on the outside now, gives us the freedom to consult what other sources say, and we now.

  who sincerely partake of the emblems, considering the unsettling increase in partakers of late.. just asking.

  We all remember hearing how loving, kind, Godlike etc we were, as Jehovah's Witnesses.

  Yet all of that is self praise. Is that really what others are saying?

  Being on the outside now, gives us the freedom to consult what other sources say, and we now

  know that the JW movement is not considered as wonderful as all that.

  Of course, there have been newspaper articles, at convention times, that say how well behaved the

  Jehovah's Witnesses are. and just as well! Next weekend, there will be a million Catholics in

  Rome to celebrate Easter and they too will be well behaved.

  IF YOU ARE A JEHOVAH'S WITNESS READING THIS:

  when I quit the witnesses, I allowed myself to read other religious literature, and was surprised:

  EVERY religion says the same thing: how they are the chosen, how they have proof ( they site examples)

  of how they KNOW that THEY have the Truth. There are litterally 1000's of sects who claim that they only

  are the religion chosen by God and yes, many use the name Jehovah too. Rationalize that fact how you will.

  The truth is Jehovahs Witnesses are not different.

  Over 7yrs as a JW and I just found out I'm not supposed to buy Girl Scout Cookies?

  i'm still in the matrix(the truth), but 'morpheus' and his team are valiantly working on a way to get me out.

  in the meantime, everyday i am discovering so much about being a jw i never knew, like don't buy girl scout cookies, that i keep asking myself "what have i got myself into".. maat.

  really lame for a first post, but i figure i should start some where.

  Welcome onboard Maat.

  'This is a perfect organization ran by imperfect men.' Its so easy just to assert something/anything nowadays.

  Many people never check to see if what they have heard is true. And in any case, the JWorg discourages that.

  Yet checking has never been so easy. However, never believe the first thing you hear/read.Check several sources.

  Looking forward to hearing more of your experiences.

  12 potentially habitable planets found

  (astronomy picture of the day) shows the sizes of 12 exo planets (compared to earth), that have been found to be in the habitable, liquid water 'goldilocks ' zone of their sun-like stars.. may be it is more than a 'world-wide brotherhood' and sad that we have to be the lucky ones with satan confined here.

  I recall the offical gb line in the 70's: "there is no proof that there is even other planets outside our solar system."

  So, thats another thing they got wrong. I suppose they were banking on the big A coming before man had progressed this far and discovered what waffal they published inthe mags.
